Margaret’s tulip paintings came from a sense of wonder and excitement about discovering a commonality between the sacred spaces within the great cathedrals of Europe and the hearts of flowers. Never one to waste time, Margaret turned a large commercial space at 50 W. Shaw (and Blackstone) into a spacious gallery for her first-ever painting exhibition, “Summer Tulips,” in July of 1992. Her “Winter Tulips” exhibition followed in spring of 1993. Some of the pieces from those shows are shown below.
