Swan Pair

This sculpture of a pair of swans was designed by Margaret Hudson and hand-sculpted at her Earth Arts Studio in Fresno, CA. This is a high fired stoneware sculpture cute enough to go inside, but tough enough for your garden.

This design is 6” wide, 5”tall and 4” long, it weighs 2lbs. All our sculptures are handmade and will have small differences in weight and final dimensions.

In the late 1960’s and 70’s Fresno artist Margaret Hudson became well known for her earthy clay sculptures of joyful animals. A lifelong nature lover Margaret was inspired by the wildlife around her, the quails of the central valley, the bears of the nearby Sierra Nevada mountains, and the swans that migrate through the Central Valley. Today, Margaret’s original designs are still made by hand from locally sourced clay by a small team of sculptors led by Margaret’s grandson and her long time assistants who have decades of experience working alongside Margaret.
