Walking Bear

This adorable bear sculpture, based on Margaret Hudson’s original design, was hand crafted by skilled Fresno based artisans from Earth Arts Studio’s signature brown clay. Though it’s cute enough to keep on your shelf, this stoneware bear is durable enough for outdoor display in the garden or yard. Inspired by the bears of the Sierra Nevada, and formed from locally sourced clay, this Paddy Bear is the perfect gift for someone who needs a little piece of California.

The joyous spirit and gentleness of these bears was inspired by an experience Margaret had on a camping trip to the Sierra Nevada Mountains. While Margaret lay in her tent, a curious bear reached inside and gently ran its paw through her hair. These simple designs formed from earthy brown clay capture the joy Margaret Hudson drew from nature and echo her belief that all living things are formed of the same earth.
