This sculpture of a pair of a rabbit with a asnata hat is based on the designs on Margaret Hudson and hand-sculpted at her Earth Arts Studio in Fresno, CA. Each rabbit is high-fired stoneware clay so they’re cute enough for your home and tough enough for the garden.
In the late 1960’s and 70’s Fresno artist Margaret Hudson became well known for her earthy clay sculptures of joyful animals. A lifelong nature lover Margaret was inspired by the wildlife around her, the quails of the central valley, the bears of the nearby Sierra Nevada mountains, and the rabbits that played in her yard. Today, Margaret’s original designs are still made by hand from locally sourced clay by a small team of sculptors led by Margaret’s grandson and her long time assistants who have decades of experience working alongside Margaret.
